This 2017 Merlot from Happy Camper Vineyards has certainly left me quite the happy camper. I have been leaning into Merlot even more recently, and I am very happy that I decided to take a chance on this bottle. If you have already tried wines from Happy Camper Vineyards, you will know, as I know, that they are masters of creating wines that treat you as well as they treat your bank account. This wine left me wanting to run down to the store and pick up several more bottles.

The look of this wine is quite bold, a deep red brightening to a rosy ruby around the edge. The scent is refreshingly fruity, but with an underlying dry, almost dusty scent. Upon tasting this wine, I was reminded of pomegranates. It is dry but evenly crisp, and extremely decadent. Somehow, it leaves the tongue dry, but the mouth remains full of rich flavor.

This wine would be perfect to take on a camping trip, as it has a twist-off top. It reminds me a bit of a dusty attic, in that perfect Merlot way. Whenever you are picking out wine next, I definitely recommend giving this bottle a try.
