Before purchasing the RMS “Un” Cover-up and “Un” Powder I hadn’t worn any sort of foundation or cover-up in several years. I had spent quite a long time trying to be as gentle on my skin as possible, to try and reverse some damage that had been done in my teenage years. When I read about these RMS products in an Into The Gloss ‘The Top Shelf’ interview with Emma Watson, where she spoke about being gentle on her skin, and using products that were comfortable and safe, I decided to give these products a chance, and I have been so happy with them, I have actually started wearing them on a regular basis.

The “Un“ Cover-up is incredibly lightweight and creamy. It works great for covering up individual spots, but it is equally good for a full face of foundation. As a shout out to the customer service team at RMS, I wasn’t sure which shade I should purchase, and they matched my skin tone perfectly through a photo I sent them over Instagram. I was so thrilled to receive a cover-up which matched me so well, without having to sample any products first. I love using the “Un” Cover-up on days when I am a bit spottier than I am comfortable with, and also on days when I want to look really polished. When I first bought this product I only used my fingers to apply it, but after a while I decided to follow Emma’s recommendation on another product, and I purchased the Palm Brush Mini (which is also in the above photograph) from Artis. As Emma said in her interview, the brush really is amazing at helping to work the product into the skin for a truly flawless look. Now I use the brush almost every time.

The “Un” Powder is also quite a well-made product. I personally am a big fan of the matte look it gives my skin, and I love that when I use it, I don’t have to worry about my makeup slipping at all throughout the day. It gives everything such a nice, uniform look, and keeps the cover-up in place without any caking or creases.

I am still exploring the world of makeup, and how I can use it to feel really comfortable in my skin, but these two products from RMS have brought me very far along on the journey of enjoying makeup, and using it to enhance my natural look instead of covering it up.
