Shakespeare and Company Paris: A History of the Rag & Bone Shop of the Heart - Book Review Blurb
‘Shakespeare and Company Paris: A History of the Rag & Bone Shop of the Heart’, edited by Krista Halverson, is one of my all-time favorite historical collections of art and memories. This book is a beautiful collection of letters, photos, and historical accounts of how Shakespeare and Company became the legendary solace of literature and love that it is. I found this copy tucked away at Barnes and Noble and I knew it was going to be a special book. I have read it many times over, and I enjoy flipping through to my favorite parts whenever I am in need of some comfort. It includes quotes, letters, and poems from some of the greatest minds to ever walk through the doors of this magical bookshop. To put it simply, this book is an absolutely magical representation of the bookshop that it was written about. I have never been to Paris, but after reading this book I feel as though a part of Paris is already etched onto my heart. I cannot recommend reading and treasuring this book highly enough, you need it in your life.
